How Suite It Is

Words dictated by John Pond, Editor at Sea, from his hospital bed after knee surgery to his Assistant, Sandra Tiltman.

Another great launch from Avalon Waterways who are renown for doing things with a lot of style.  The launch was held at the luxurious Ocean Room Restaurant at the International Cruise Terminal in Sydney.  Fergus Stoddart and Sally Macmillan of Cruise Passenger Magazine were amongst the media guests and I was ably represented by my Assistant, Sandra.  My old friend Steve Liebmann, Avalon Waterways’ Ambassador, spoke as did Managing Director Australasia, Stewart Williams.  The event was to launch Avalon Waterways’ 2011 brochure, featuring their newest river ship “Avalon Panorama”, to be launched in May 2011.  I would recommend a visit to your local cruise agent to pick up a copy of this brochure.

“Avalon Panorama” will feature some truly innovative designs.  The bed is facing the river (something new) and the huge wall to wall windows fully open to reveal a French balcony.

The introduction of  “Avalon Panorama” will give Avalon Waterways a fleet of nine luxury ships with an average age of less than three years, the youngest fleet operating in Europe.

I can’t wait to sail on “Avalon Panorama”.

As I have mentioned in previous blogs, 2011 will be a year of even greater bargains and I believe cabins will sell fast.

John
