It’s Christmas Eve – Merry Christmas

It’s great to be home for Christmas, perhaps it would be even better on a Christmas Cruise. I can’t complain, if you’re a regular reader you know I’ve just returned from a great Royal Caribbean cruise. At Home: 3 Days Later – Thanks Captain

Sandra and I have been home three days from our Royal Caribbean cruise and on reading some of the Rhapsody of the Seas blog comments, I was absolutely astounded to find one from Captain Stein Roger Bjørheim, Rhapsody’s Captain. He apparently has been reading my daily blogs from his ship. I must say I was thrilled and honoured that he would do so. Here is his blog.

Day 1: Boarding Rhapsody in Sydney

Sandra and I had left our packing to the last minute and as usual I am sure we have packed too much, but the beauty of boarding a cruise at your home port is that luggage weight is not a problem and you have a nice strong taxi driver to lift the bags into the boot.

Day 11: Rhapsody of the Seas – Home

At about 6 am today (Monday) we pulled into our berth at Circular Quay, ten great days away and I’m ashamed to say 3 kilos heavier. Getting off the ship was effortless and Customs took our forms and waved us through. A fifteen minute taxi ride and we were greeted by our Doberman who was very pleased to see us. Our house was still in one piece and the garden looked great.

Day 10: Rhapsody of the Seas – At Sea

Day 10 has come too quickly, it’s our last day at sea and the last full day of the cruise. Tomorrow morning at around 7 a.m. we will be docking at Sydney’s International Cruise Terminal at Circular Quay. It’s always good to get home but in this case we really would have loved a few more days on board this wonderful ship. Today we did all the usual “at sea” things and had to start packing in the late afternoon as our bags have to be outside our stateroom door by 11 p.m.

Day 8: Rhapsody of the Seas – At Sea

Perhaps the best salad I have ever had. Bought a hat at 50% off and Sandra stocked up on some cosmetics at half the Australian price.
